| Match Report: | Blighters! Gave us the no show on Friday afternoon despite several calls over the last few weeks to ensure they were going to turn up....no game on VP's day!!! That has cost us dear... I think a couple of grand is a realistic estimate!! After the lunch, with no game to watch all the YP's drifted away when normally they are there untill about 10 and usually very sozzelled! Letters have been written and calls made!! Just not on!! Pre Match blurb....VPs Day! Honiton play Devonport High School Old Boys on Saturday afternoon as the club entertain their Vice Presidents. Honiton will look likely to take second place in the league, and will use the game as a stepping stone in preparation for the forthcoming promotion play off game and Devon Intermediate Plate Final. Yeah, you heard. Plate Final. Didn’t even have to play one game to get there. That’ll be a nice eye opener for us. See what graft is in store for next year…….. potentially. Honiton have not played DHSOB for some time, but I remember that games between the sides have been close in the past. The Plymouth side certainly will not be a push over and the home side will have to be on form to overcome this weeks opposition. Training was pretty good on Thursday and we look like we are coming together well, but we have to get there. If your mates in the middle of the field on his own, where are we? Why are you not supporting him? That’s going to be really key in this weather. Team News Harrison starts in the front row with Steggal and Owen. Doidge and Findlay are in the second row with Jones, Skipper Hannay and Rice in the back row. Nex is at nine with Guilbert at ten. De Large is in the centres with Barrett. Webber is on one wing with Dobson on the other wing. Canniford continues at the back after a good showing there last week. Sampson is on the bench with Cooke and Huskins. Way is also available and may feature if there are any last minute injuries. |
